46 Climbs Kick Off Weekend

Last Saturday officially marked the kick off of 46 Climbs 2015, and our first national and annual fundraiser, ‘Climb for Life.’ 46 Climbs started the weekend off right with achieving and surpassing the official fundraiser goal of $20,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention! How amazingly blessed we have been this year!

We have had many hikers conquer mountains this past Labor Day weekend, and have seen many amazing photographs and stories.

It’s truly been great to learn a little bit about each of our fellow hikers through this event. Our goal was and is to create a community of hikers climbing to conquer suicide, and this year I believe we have.

Kolby and myself took our parents up Phelps and Cascade Mountains on this past Saturday and Sunday. It was amazing to share our favorite past time, and stress reliever with a few of the most influential people in our lives. Without them, getting 46 Climbs off the ground last year would have been much harder and nearly impossible.

Last year, Kolby wanted to create an event for a friend whom he lost to suicide in high school. Even though it’s 6 years later, loosing his friend to suicide still lingers with him. Being able to share his story, and hike along side his parents, myself and my parents for a cause such as this, has enabled him to find some sort  of peace. Here at 46 Climbs we just hope that our event can in some way impact another’s life and create a positive change for them.

We look forward to another weekend of hiking and seeing more blue shirts out on the trail! Keep the pictures and stories coming, we love hearing about your adventures!

Keep Climbing!
